Microblading in Brighton is an option if you want fine, hair-like strokes to fill gaps or give sparse brows more shape. I’ll keep the shape tied to your own face, and you’ll check it in the mirror before I begin. It’s a careful choice, so there’s time to talk it through.

What happens at your appointment
I see one client at a time in my private room in Patcham. We’ll start with your consultation and check that the treatment is suitable for you. You can show me how you usually wear your brows or bring examples of shapes you like.
I’ll choose a pigment colour with you, then map your brows to your face. You’ll check the drawn shape in the mirror. If you don’t like it, tell me and I’ll change the drawing before any pigment goes in. I’ll apply numbing as part of the appointment.
I make fine strokes with a manual tool to give the look of brow hairs. The first session builds the shape. Your brows will look darker and more defined straight afterwards, then change as they heal. Once they’ve healed, I’ll check the result with you at the included perfecting session and make adjustments if needed.
Is it right for you
Microblading can suit you if you want a subtle result or need to fill sparse areas. Hair strokes often heal more clearly on drier skin. On oilier skin, they can heal with a softer, more solid look. If you want a filled-in brow from the start, powder brows may suit you better. Micro-shading adds soft shading between hair strokes. You can compare them in my guide to microblading and powder brows.
I qualified as a beauty therapist and completed my Makeup Artistry BA (Hons) in 2012. My work is insured. I also hold registration with Brighton & Hove City Council for semi-permanent make-up. I use a fresh blade for each client and disposable equipment.
If another artist did your semi-permanent brows, I may be able to correct them after I’ve seen photographs and checked how saturated they are. I don’t offer removal. Top-ups are only for my existing clients.
I cannot treat you if you’re under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding. I also cannot treat you if you have uncontrolled diabetes, glaucoma, take blood thinners, or have a skin condition in the brow area. The same applies if you have haemophilia, a healing disorder, uncontrolled high blood pressure, active skin cancer, radiotherapy or chemotherapy, epilepsy, a pacemaker, major heart problems or keloid scarring. Botox in the past month also rules out treatment. Skin medication such as Accutane or steroids must be paused for two weeks before and after.
Price and what it includes
Microblading costs £320. That includes the consultation, brow mapping, numbing, the first session and one perfecting session 4 to 6 weeks later. I take a £75 deposit when you book and deduct it from the price on the day. If you tell me at least 48 hours before your appointment, I can return your deposit or move it to a new date. You can also check the price list.

Before you come
If you’re a new client, book a free patch test at least 24 hours before your treatment. It takes 10 to 15 minutes. I cannot carry out microblading without it.
Stop using Vitamin A products, glycolic acids and exfoliants on the brow area for at least two weeks beforehand. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin and ibuprofen for 24 hours before treatment. If a GP prescribes your aspirin or other medicine, speak to me before making any change.
Aftercare
- For the first 7 days, avoid getting the brow area wet as much as possible. Wash around it.
- Don’t pick at flakes or scratch an itchy brow.
- Don’t cover the brows heavily with aftercare product.
- Avoid saunas, pools, steam rooms, facials and skin treatments for the first 7 days.
- Avoid retinol acids and AHAs on the area for 30 days.

Questions clients ask
What is microblading?
Microblading uses a manual tool to place pigment in fine strokes that look like brow hairs. I use it to define a shape, fill gaps and work with brows that have been overplucked.
Who is not suitable to have microblading?
I cannot treat anyone with the conditions listed above. If you’re unsure about a condition or medicine, contact me before booking so we can discuss it.
What should I expect?
The first appointment takes 1 hour 30 minutes. We’ll go through the consultation, choose a colour, map a shape you can check, apply numbing and then create the hair strokes.
What does it feel like?
Clients often tell me it feels less uncomfortable than they expected. Some compare it with threading or light plucking, and some notice a scratchy sound. People feel it differently, so I can’t promise how it will feel for you.
What should I expect after my treatment?
Your brows will look darker at first. They may flake around days 4 to 5, then look faint or patchy before the colour becomes clearer again. The skin takes about 30 days to heal, and the result varies with skin type and aftercare.
Do I need a top-up?
The first perfecting session is part of the treatment and is included in your price. I use it to check the healed colour, add density and adjust the shape if needed. Some skin needs further work. If you’re an existing client and book within a year of treatment, a microblading top-up costs £75.
